Andy joined Transamerica in August 2022 as Head of Underwriting and is responsible for the underwriting strategy including delivering better mortality and morbidity experience, improving underwriting efficiency, expense management, and increasing our automation capabilities. Andy works across the Individual Life organization to set priorities and execute the broader strategy. Andy is also responsible for key experience activities to ensure the producer and customer expectations are met. Andy has 30 years’ experience in underwriting and life insurance, with a proven track record of leading the development of digital, data-driven underwriting processes. He has held senior leadership positions at Nationwide, The Hartford, Prudential, and most recently at MetLife/Brighthouse Financial, where he was responsible for leading new business and underwriting operations, medical services, mortality insights, underwriting data & analytics, underwriting controls, and underwriting vendor management. Andy received his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Franklin University. He holds Fellow, Life Management Institute (FLMI) and Fellow, Academy of Life Underwriting (FALU) designations
