Beginning as a partner in his family carpentry business, he became a licensed carpenter building houses for 9 years until his strong interest in quantum physics led him to the University of Toronto. There he studied Engineering Science, Majoring in Physics and completed his Masters with top publications in Physical Review Letters and APS Physics with a focus on Quantum Computing. Today James is a serial entrepreneur motivated by solving novel transformative problems and is a leading one of the fastest growing digital health companies in the world ranking near the top of Deloitte North American Technology Fast 500 for the past 2 years and as a finalist for EY Entrepreneur of the Year. His company, Marble API is reshaping the insurance landscape allowing individuals to compliantly connect their 360deg health information into businesses, such as their insurers, with advanced AI and analytics tools. James founded Marble API with a mission to eliminate barriers to access and control of one’s electronic health information after experiencing the pains of interacting with manual records and portals from health information systems while his father-in-law was ill. For the past 7 years, Marble API has built tens of thousands of connections to electronic health data system across the US and Canada while continuing to innovate with AI data intelligence to make health information useful.
